That is very interesting as I think we would be interested in obtaining the rights to produce the product. We don't necessarily want to own it (just get it into the hands of people who want to play it) and be able to add to the existing material in an open source manner similar to what is being planned with D20. I think if we approach it from the DQPA in association with DQN point of view, we may be able to hammer out an agreement.
Viktor are you willing to give us the contact information of the people you were talking to?

I contacted WOTC very recently (within the last month or so)
about the rights to DQ. Their position was that, they'd be
willing to license publishing, but they would not be willing to
sell the property outright. Since I had no interest in merely
licensing the product, our negotiations broke down. Well, to be
fair, you could hardly call them negotiations -- I asked them if
they'd be willing to sell, they said they'd be willing to license
(to "save me the hassle of managing the product"), I said I
didn't want to license but to buy the product in toto, I never
heard from them again.
