After I posted my skill, I realized that I had forgotten the XP cost.  You are exactly correct.  My intention is that the Soldier cost would be the same as Courtesian.

As far as gambling...that was a throw-in.  I thought it would be fun to use in certain roleplaying situations.  I'd love to hear of any other ideas for something to take its place.

While I agree with some of your points on keeping watch, I disagree with others.  After reviewing my skill, I believe you are right, a RK X 2 increase is too much.  Something more reasonable, like just a RK increase might be better.

I disagree that detecting stealth should be a function of the collective group on watch.  While "The Watch" may be composed of numerous individuals acting together, the detection of someone sneaking by ultimately comes down to one individual noticing them.  Further, a lone sentry patrolling a wall would not receive any benefit from the other sentries watching different parts of the wall.  I feel that using stealth should be on a case-by-case basis.  Each time a new guard or group of guards is encountered, stealth should be checked.  A collective system would be unecessarily cumbersome.  Of course, these are just my thoughts.
