What happens when a Gemworld Dies?

It is told that in the mythic past there was a world called Bloodstone.  For myriad ages it lived in peace and its inhabitants grew in wisdom and in power.  Then came from "outside" a dark enemy, an anti-life that consumed all in its path.

The Powers of Bloodstone rose to its defense and held the enemy at bay but only for a short time.  Sensing that they would ultimately falter and become minions of a dark enemy that then would spread across the Gemworlds, they formed a plan born of their desperation.  Gathering all power to them they released a Sundering Shout that shattered the world like Crystal, breaking the Gates between worlds.

What happens when a Gemworld Dies?

We mourn. Remember the Martyred, remember Bloodstone.

As it is written in Turning of the Sun : The Chronicles of Rhyee

This story is seldom known and only then to philosophers of obscure lore.  Yet, it has been debated among those that Bloodstone may not be dead, just cut off from the other worlds.  There may still be a way to reopen a path to it.  It little matters.  The Bloodstone Keys are scattered or destroyed and the location of its gates long forgotten in the mists of time.

As well, who knows what was the outcome of that long forgotten battle when a world cried out?  Would opening a gate between worlds ultimately spell doom for the whole of the Gemworlds?
